It is self evident that “Megève en Selle”
(Megève in the Saddle) has thus crystallised
the passions shared by Frédéric Muffat,
Pascaline Freiher-Scharapan, Maud Lenoir
and Astrid Tulliez for horse riding and their
village of Megève. When the association was
launched one evening in July 2010 the team
had just one goal in mind: promote equestrian sports in the resort. An ambition that was to rapidly materialise in the organisation of an International flagship event, a three star CSI, that was acclaimed from the first edition as much for its exceptional ambiance as for its extreme professionalism.
The gamble has already paid off for this
little “Megève in the Saddle” team who have
succeeded in staging an ambitious first class
event, yet managed to preserve their founding spirit: a joyful blend of humility, conviviality, determination and enthusiasm.

Building on this success but anxious to preserve its
identity, the organising committee has thus
closely followed the rapid expansion and
growing renown of this Show Jumping event
that is so unique. Make progress, but make
sure that you never lose your bearings… It
was with this in mind that Laëtitia Tissot-
Fontanet joined the team from the second
edition to manage the coordination and
communication of the event.
And if today the success of “Megève in
the Saddle” and the Show Jumping rests
firmly on the driving force of this “Club of
Five”, the event would never have aspired to
such a level without outside support. Thus a
team of about forty volunteers and diverse
personalities from the equestrian world, loyal
since the first edition, too gravitate around the Show Jumping and have played an important part in its success. And that’s possibly one of the greatest sources of pride of “Megève in the Saddle”: uniting people around this project that is so dear to their hearts.
